EXPERIMENT 

Using found objects in thermoforming, Mara was created with plastic, repurposed wire and and the later addition of spray paint.

I was captivated by the texture and affect that came from the manipulation of the materials in the first trial. The second time around, I added a color and shaped the tangle of wire around a kitchen bowl to keep the integrity of form.

After the connection I had made with the materials, I decided to carry my research into a sculptural version. Made with the plastic from various thermoforming attempts and the same wire, I combined the process with my practice of quilting to find something new.
